The different steps in our process

  • 1. First meeting

    Define your needs

During our first meeting, we take the time to discuss your project together to correctly define your needs and desires in order to offer you the best solution.

  • 2. Submission of a proposal for an approach

    The beginning of our collaboration

Once we have correctly defined your needs, we will provide you with an offer that we will review together and adapt to meet your needs 100%.

  • 3. Meeting with the team that will carry out your project

    Development of your application

Once the offer has been accepted, we introduce you to our project manager with whom you will be in contact throughout the assignment. We also take the time to explain our project management method, the Agile approach, known as SCRUM, which recommends dividing the development into several phases for better control of your budget.

  • 4. The first phase: design

What will your application look like?

We organise a meeting to find out your expectations regarding the interface and design of your mobile application. Together we create wireframes, interface prototypes, so that you can visualise your project. Our designer uses your graphic preferences and the wireframes to produce the final designs.

  • 5. Development of your application by phase

    Development of your mobile application

At the beginning of each phase, we list the features to be produced. When we have finished developing them, we present you with a demonstration so that you can test your draft application. You can then give us your feedback and possible adaptations for the rest of the project. Once this phase is over, we start the next one and so on until your application is complete.

  • 6. What next ?

    Our collaboration goes on

We do not abandon you as soon as the development is finished, we remain at your disposal to train you on the tool, to answer your questions and your additional requests. We accompany you for the rest of your project.

Our cooperation, a well-rounded process

When you start a project with us, we follow a proven process to ensure that you will be satisfied with your new application.

  • Group 3 What Agile approach do you use for your project management?

We use the Agile method, more specifically Scrum, which was originally invented for IT development companies. Often opposed to the Waterfall method, which consists of following a set of specifications defined at the beginning of the project, with no interaction with the client until the product is delivered, the Agile approach advocates collaboration with clients and frequent deliveries of the product throughout the project, which allows for adaptation to changes.

Each project is divided into several phases: at the beginning of each phase, you list, with the help of our Product Owner (the person in charge of explaining your wishes to the development team), all the functionalities to be developed during this phase. At the end of this phase, we deliver a version of your mobile application (which will be further developed) in order to test it and ask for changes if necessary for the next phase. We repeat this cycle until your product is fully developed. After each stage, we take the time to analyse our work to identify the positive points to be strengthened and the negative points to be improved.

The aim of this method is to provide you with the best possible solution for your needs.

If you want to know more and discover why you should choose the Agile method for your project management, we advise you to read our article.

  • Group 3 What is the budget for a mobile application?

Generally, if you include the back office and the mobile application (both Android and IOS) with a few screens and a good design, your application will cost a minimum of €20,000 excluding VAT.

This does not mean that it is not possible to make a cheaper application as our mobile application development agency does, but you should know that a standard application present in the App Store/Google Play costs between 20.000 and 40.000€ ex VAT to develop. The price can increase depending on the functionalities, the number of screens(normally, an application is relatively simple and requires few screens but the price increases if many are needed), if A/B testing is required, if continuous adaptations are needed,...

It is possible to make an application with a lower budget but you must keep in mind that it will be a simpler application. You can also opt for the web format if we see that the mobile application (iOS/Android) is not adapted to your budget. We will then develop a responsive web interface (adapted to mobile). In this case, use our expertise as a web agency, the price will be lower for you.

These are price ranges, to know the exact price for your mobile application, the best is to contact us so that we can discuss it together.

  • Group 3 Mobile web application, hybrid, native... What is the difference?

There are several types of applications: native, hybrid and web. They all have their own specificities.

Native applications are applications that you download and install on your smartphone. They are developed for a specific operating system, Android or IOS. They require different development and languages for each system: Java and Kotlin for Android and Objective-C and Swift for IOS. This separate development results in a robust and high-performance mobile application.

Web applications are approximately the mobile version of a website. These applications do not download and install on your smartphone, you access them from a browser. The disadvantage of this type of mobile application is that it requires a connection to function. But the main advantage is that it is compatible with Android and IOS with a single code, which saves time and money.

Hybrid applications are a mix of native and web applications. They require only one code to be compatible with IOS and Android like web apps but they download and install on your smartphone like native apps. Hybrid apps were initially less powerful than native apps but now there are technologies like Flutter and React Native that can compete.

Our mobile application development agency offers all three solutions. To choose the best one for your project, we advise you to contact us to discuss it.

  • Group 3 What is the difference between publishing on iOS and/or Android?

The first difference is in their audience: the iOS audience is more likely to buy a mobile application or spend money on an application than the Android audience. This is especially important if you are going to charge for your app.

If you choose a native app, you will have to develop the app twice: once for iOS and once for Android. If you opt for a hybrid application (an application that requires only one code for both operating systems), you will still have a small additional cost for wanting to be present on both operating systems.

Some clients will choose to launch first on IOS or Android and sometimes on both at the same time but it all depends on their budget and their desires. Our mobile application development agency can help you decide which solution to choose. If you have a project, contact us, we will discuss it together.

  • Group 3 Do you have to pay to be on the stores?

Yes, unfortunately, it's not free. To be published on the App Store and Google Play, you have to pay about 100 euros per year per store. To do this, you need to create a developer account that will allow you to manage the publication of your mobile application but also the comment section and the payments made by the users, which is very interesting.

If you don't want to opt for this solution, our mobile application development agency offers you to publish your application on our developer account and in this case, it is free. Your application, however, will be on the Deuse account, so you will not have as many possibilities as on your own account.

  • Group 3 How long does it take to develop a mobile application?

It is difficult to give a precise answer because each mobile application is unique and requires a different development time. Generally, in our mobile application agency, we count from 3 to 6 months between the beginning and the end of the project. Obviously, it depends on the complexity of your application and the number of screens.

You have to keep in mind that well-known applications such as Facebook or Instagram require endless development because there are always changes to be made to the applications. In this case, there is a version 1 that is continuously improved. The project then lasts much longer. This kind of continuous development is a good solution if you see that your concept works.

To get a clear idea of how long it will take to develop your application, we advise you to contact us. We will discuss your project together.

  • Group 3 How do updates to a mobile application work?

In general, updates can take a long time, especially at Apple, as can the first publication of a mobile application in the App Store. Apple is very strict with the applications in its App Store and each publication must be validated by a human (no automated process) which takes some time given the number of mobile applications in the App Store.

You have to be very careful when updating an application because when there is a bug, you obviously have to update it to correct the bug, but it is not guaranteed that all users will switch to the latest version of the application. So you have to be very careful to avoid bugs. This is much less the case in web development

Updates require rigorous testing, which our mobile application development company carries out with the utmost care, of course.

  • Group 3 How does the design part of an application work?

First, we ask you if you already have a graphic charter and a logo, as these are elements that strongly influence the design.

Then we ask you to list some mobile applications that you use regularly and whose design you appreciate. Here, we are not talking about the interface and usability of these applications, but about their design. This list will help us to know where you want to go.

Finally, our designer, on the basis of this data and the wireframes (mock-ups of the application which are used to structure the screens of the application) that we will have produced beforehand, will submit a design proposal to you. This first version of a part of the application is used to know what you like or not. You can give us some feedback so that we can adapt your design. The goal of our mobile application agency is to produce a design that you like.

  • Group 3 What about intellectual property and source code?

In general, our mobile application development agency transfers the exploitation rights of our creations to our clients. For more information, please consult our general terms and conditions

Our clients can do whatever they want with the mobile application we have developed. However, there is a distinction to be made: some parts of the application are based on technologies and libraries such as Django, React JS or Flutter and their intellectual property belongs to these technologies and libraries.

The same is true for the Deuse libraries that we make available to our clients and for which we retain the intellectual property. You nevertheless retain the right to use these libraries and technologies.

But all the code developed specifically for our clients belongs to them. The source code can be delivered at the end of the project if requested by the client.

  • Group 3 How does the maintenance of a mobile application work?

There is a difference between maintenance and continuous improvement of your project. Traditional maintenance concerns the updating and correction of bugs in your mobile application, while continuous improvement is the addition of new features and adaptations to your application, which is not part of maintenance.

Maintenance varies if you choose to host with us or not. Indeed, our mobile application company offers a hosting contract with maintenance. If you opt for this, we take care of maintenance.

If you don't host your mobile application with us and you have small requests, we will take care of it ourselves. But, if your requests involve a considerable number of working days, then generally we will divide your requests into sprints (= work phase: we divide our work into several phases as recommended by the Agile project management method) in order to plan your budget more easily.
