  • 2. Submission of a proposal for an approach

    The beginning of our collaboration

Once we have correctly defined your needs, we will provide you with an offer that we will review together and adapt to meet your needs 100%.

  • 3. Meeting with the team that will carry out your project

Development process of your Digital commerce

Once the offer has been accepted, we introduce you to our project manager with whom you will be in contact throughout the assignment. We also take the time to explain our project management method, the Agile approach, known as SCRUM, which recommends dividing the development into several phases for better control of your budget.

  • 4. The first phase: design

What will your Digital commerce look like?

We organise a meeting to find out your expectations regarding the interface and design of your Digital commerce solution. Together we create wireframes, interface prototypes, so that you can visualise your project. Our designer uses your graphic preferences and the wireframes to produce the final designs.

  • 5. Development

Realization of your custom-made Digital commerce

At the beginning of each phase, we list the features to be produced. When we have finished developing them, we present you with a demonstration so that you can test your Digital commerce project. You can then give us your feedback and possible adaptations for the rest of the project. Once this phase is over, we start the next one and so on until the complete realization of your Digital commerce solution.

  • Group 3 Should I systematically go through you to manage my e-commerce data?

No, you don't have to contact us every time you want to add data to your e-commerce platform.

When we develop a custom E-commerce, we usually integrate an interface that allows you to add or remove data as you wish. This is called the administration interface. Depending on your needs, we choose the elements of your E-commerce that are editable or not. Our team of engineers will always explain how this interface works so that you can manage your online shop independently.

  • Group 3 What about security measures?

Our e-commerce company attaches great importance to the security of your system. That is why we implement various measures.

For most of the projects that we develop from scratch, we provide a range of protection against cross site request forgery (CSRF), clickjacking, cross site scripting and SQL injection. In addition to these measures, we guarantee an up-to-date SSL/HTTPS certificate, session security and host header validation. Furthermore, a backup in external backups of the server on which your E-commerce is installed is performed daily. Finally, if necessary, we can encrypt certain confidential information in the database.
Our team of engineers knows that security is essential for the success of your project and works accordingly to guarantee it.

  • Group 3 Where are your offices located?

The offices of our E-commerce company are located in Liège, Hasselt and Brussels, but we work all over Belgium, in Namur, Charleroi, Mons, in Hainaut, etc. We can also work in Luxembourg or anywhere in Europe. If you have a tailor-made e-commerce project, contact us and we will discuss it together.

    Our expert’s answer
  • Group 3 Which project management method do you use at Deuse?

We use the Agile methodology and more specifically Scrum to manage our projects. We have been using it for years and we are convinced that it is the best method for our e-commerce company. It was invented for IT development companies before being adapted to other fields.

This method divides a project into several phases called sprints. At the beginning of each sprint, you define, together with our project manager, the functionalities to be developed during this phase. At the end of the sprint, you can check what our engineers have developed and if you want to make any changes, this is when you should ask for them to be incorporated into the next sprints. We continue in this way until your entire project is complete. Between each sprint, we take the time, as the method recommends, to evaluate our work. The aim is to improve continuously.

The Agile approach favours regular exchanges with clients and regular deliveries of the developed product. It allows us to adapt to changes and thus achieve the desired result.

If you want to know more about this method and why we recommend it for your project management, we encourage you to read our article.

  • Group 3 How do I know if I need a tailor-made e-commerce solution?

If your E-commerce needs specific or too complex functionalities, we advise you to opt for a custom-made solution because a standard E-commerce will not support these functionalities well, if at all.

As soon as you have a different flow than a standard E-commerce, it is better to choose a custom development.

For example, our team developed an e-commerce site where you had to register before you could buy because our client only sells products to members. For another client who sells personalised prints on different media, we had to develop a bespoke E-commerce because the products are too complex for a standard online store.

However, if you want to launch a brand, we advise you to start with a classic E-commerce to test your products with users and to make a name for yourself. As soon as you realise that you need specific functionalities, you can start with a custom development.

  • Group 3 How long does it take to develop a customised e-commerce product?

Since each project is unique and requires specific development, it is difficult to give a precise time estimate.

Generally, we advise our clients that it takes between 2 months and 1 year to develop a custom e-commerce website. Obviously, the development time varies depending on the features to be implemented, their complexity, the number of interfaces required, etc.  Some projects require more time than others.

If you have an E-commerce project and you would like to know the development time, contact us, we will discuss your project together and we will be able to give you an estimate of the time needed to complete it.

  • Group 3 How does maintenance of an E-commerce work?

First of all, it is important to understand the difference between maintenance and continuous improvement: maintenance concerns the correction of bugs and updates to your E-commerce whereas continuous improvement consists of adding new features, adapting certain elements, it is the evolution of your project. Continuous improvement is not, however, part of maintenance.

Secondly, maintenance depends on whether you choose to host with us or elsewhere. If you decide to entrust us with the hosting of your E-commerce, our company will take care of the maintenance which will be included in our hosting contract.

If you prefer to host your E-commerce elsewhere and you have small requests, we can take care of this for you. However, if your requests require a considerable number of development days, we will divide them into several sprints (the work phases of the Agile project management method we use at Deuse to develop the best possible solutions). Dividing your development into several phases allows you to manage your budget more effectively.

    Our expert’s answer
  • Group 3 What is the budget for the development of a tailor-made E-commerce?

Just like the duration of the development, it is impossible to give a precise budget because the price varies according to the functionalities, their complexity, the number of screens (the more different ones you have, the more time and therefore money it takes), etc.

Generally speaking, you should plan on a budget of at least 15,000€ excluding VAT because we do not develop "classic" E-commerces but only customised ones, which costs more.

This is an idea of price, if you wish to have a precise estimate of the budget for your E-commerce, we invite you to contact us to discuss your project together.

    Our expert’s answer
  • Group 3 Is it possible to link a management software to my E-commerce?

Yes, we can link your E-commerce to your business software and we even advise you to set up this system.

If you decide to interface with your management software, all of your processes will be automated, which will save you time and make your daily work easier.

You can, for example, link your E-commerce to your stock management system to know in real time what you have left as an item and thus anticipate your orders. Another advantage is that when a customer buys a product, the invoice is automatically encoded in your software, no need to do it manually!

Our team will help you to optimise your customised E-commerce by linking it to the appropriate management software. Do not hesitate to contact us so that we can discuss your project together.

  • Group 3 What about intellectual property and source code?

Our company generally transfers the exploitation rights of our creations to our clients as you can read in our general sales conditions.

When the development of your E-commerce is finished, you can do whatever you want with it. However, some parts of your online shop are based on technologies and libraries like Django, React js or Laravel, in which case the intellectual property of these parts belongs to them.

The same goes for the Deuse libraries that we make available to you, the intellectual property belongs to us. Note that you have the right to use them, so this will not limit your activity.

On the other hand, the code that we develop specifically for your E-commerce belongs to you. If you wish to have the source code, you can ask us.

    Our expert’s answer
  • Group 3 How does the design part of an E-commerce work?

Before we start, we ask you to send us your graphic charter and your logo if you have one, as these elements play an important role in the design.

Then, in order to better understand your tastes and give us an idea of the direction to take, we ask you for a list of e-businesses whose design you like, not the functionalities.

Finally, our designer will make a first design based on all this information and the wireframes (plans, diagrams of your E-commerce that allows to visualize it) made by our team. This first version is useful to collect your feedback and adapt the design if needed to match your desires.

  • Group 3 Which payment system should I use for my e-commerce?

There are several payment systems. At Deuse, we mainly use Stripe because it is a proven and reliable system.

The integration of Stripe into the code is very simple, yet it is a robust, flexible and scalable solution. The simplicity of integration does not hinder the security of the system.

Stripe has many advantages for entrepreneurs, customers who will be making a payment on your e-commerce and developers who need to integrate the system, which is why we choose this solution.
